Imagination and Art

Children love to express themselves through art. This picture was created by a four year old. When I asked her what the picture was she said "It's my house and the rainbow we had at our house last night". 

I choose this picture because of the imagination the child put into her artwork. The night before there was no rainbow, but she happily told a story about the rainbow. Also she had great attention to detail and used different colors on the rainbow. To encourage communication and language development as a class we talked about the colors of a rainbow and how rainbows are formed. The child, Brooklyn, was also learning how to write her name. She proudly writes her name on all of her artwork now.
