How children touch our lives!

One of the hardest parts about being an early childhood educator for the Air Force is families moving frequently. I will never forget the very first children I worked with when starting as an infant teacher. My first infants were a set of twins, boy and girl. They were in classroom from 6 weeks to two years old. The boy was much smaller than his sister, but he was full of energy. As he grew older he had some delayed gross motor skills. His sister crawled about two months before and walked about three months before him. As he worked on attempting new skills, he gained a great sense of humor. You could always count on him for a smile or to make you laugh. He was a clown! He made me look forward to pursuing my career and brought great joy to the teachers in the classroom. We were all very sad when his family got orders to Washington, DC right before the twins second birthday. About six months later we received orders to Washington, DC too. I had the opportunity to meet up with the family and loved seeing how much the twins have grown through the years. They are both in third grade now and the boy is still smaller than his sister! He has never lost his sense of humor and is a great soccer player.
